Description:
The Australia-India Strategic Research Fund assists Australian researchers from both the public and private sectors to participate in leading edge scientific research projects and workshops with Indian scientists and supports the development of strategic alliances between Australian and Indian researchers. The AISRF is Australia’s largest fund dedicated to bilateral research with any country and one of India’s largest sources of support for international science. The emphasis of the fund is on providing support for collaborative research projects and workshops so eligible Australian applicants must have an eligible Indian partner to apply. Funding is provided to support a number of activities including visits to India by Australian researchers, salaries for research assistants and PhD students and workshop costs.
Amount awarded:
The maximum amount of funding that can be awarded to a successful project by the Australian Government has been capped at $300,000 (GST exclusive). This maximum amount must be taken into account when drafting the project plan and budget.
