Alzheimer’s Australia Research Limited (AAR) is a non-profit company formed to promote, disseminate and fund research into all aspects of dementia. Alzheimer’s Australia will fund the following grants in 2010:

Dementia Research Grants

The AAR Dementia Research Grants are seeding grants for new researchers, valued up to $30,000 (exclusive of GST), to be allocated for research in a dementia-relevant area. In 2011, five grants will be offered. Grants are awarded in both biological/non-clinical and clinical/psychosocial research areas. This year, one grant will be awarded to reflect the Consumer Dementia Research Network priority areas.

Hazel Hawke Research Grant in Dementia Care

The Hazel Hawke Research Grants in Dementia Care are seeding grants, valued up to $30,000 (exclusive of GST) for research into dementia care. Suitable projects might include research into carer support, best quality care practices, activities and non-pharmaceutical therapies for people with dementia, or any other aspect of dementia care research. Two grants will be offered in 2011
