Description:
The Spencer Foundation provides funding intended to investigate ways in which education, broadly conceived, can be improved around the world. The Foundation has been dedicated to the belief that research is necessary to the improvement in education in the following areas of inquiry:
- The Relation between Education and Social Opportunity;
- Organizational Learning in Schools, School Systems, and Higher Education Institutions;
- Teaching, Learning, and Instructional Resources; and,
- Purposes and Values of Education
Amount awarded:
Small Grants: US$40,000 or less. Major Grants: Over US$40,000.

Indirect cost recovery:
The Spencer Foundation does not allow for indirect costs on grants less then US$50,000.
