Postgraduate Scholarship in Philosophy of Neuroscience

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree in science or engineering to undertake research studies leading to a MSc in history and philosophy of science. The project is to investigate the significance of recent work in social and cognitive neuroscience for philosophical theories of the self. The project is funded via ARC Discovery Project: DP120103395: The Structure and Function of Self-Representation.


Applicants should have a background in philosophy or a relevant scientific discipline. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Amount awarded:

The scholarship is valued at $24,653 per annum (tax exempt) for one year and may be renewed for a second year, subject to satisfactory progress.
