The Trust Company is the proud Trustee for the Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarships, a scholarship programme that supports young Australian artists to help their careers flourish.

We are now calling for applications for the 2015 Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarships in the categories of acting, painting, sculpture and singing.

John Chisholm Marten set up the scholarship programme through his will in 1964, and the scholarships have been awarded since 1975. John Marten was a theatrical artist who understood the importance of travel to boost the experiences of aspiring artists.

Applicants can be students or professionals between the ages of 21-35 years and looking to further their career through travel. Applicants must be Australian born and be available for travel in the event their applications are successful and a scholarship be awarded to them, which can include both international and domestic travel.

The judges will base their final decision on both the quality of work submitted, and a well thought out plan on how such a scholarship will help the applicant to take the next step in their career. Full details on how to apply for the scholarship can be found on the following website:; Further queries should be directed to 1800 501 227.
