Description:
An exciting new scholarship opportunity funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant is available to provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD. The project aims to apply in-situ deformation transmission electron microscopy to quantitatively investigate the mechanical behaviour of metallic amorphous/crystalline composites.
Eligibility:
Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree or a Masters by research degree in materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering or condensed matter physics. Experience/background in transmission electron microscopy and mechanical properties of materials would be an advantage.
Amount awarded:
The scholarship stipend is $27,222 p.a. in 2010 (tax exempt).
